Ivan C. Namihas, Jr., M.D.
Dr. Nahihas is Assistant Professor of Radiation Oncology, Department of Radiation Medicine, Loma Linda University Medical Center (LLUMC), Loma Linda, California. He directs the Department of Radiation Medicine’s faculty outreach office at the Sun City Cancer Care Center, 27990 Sherman Road, Sun City, California, and also provides physician staff coverage for a similar Department of Radiation Medicine facility at Ridgecrest, California and at Nevada Radiation Oncology, Las Vegas, Nevada.
Dr. Nahihas completed his undergraduate education (biology) at Loma Linda University. He subsequently attended Loma Linda University School of Medicine and was awarded his M.D. degree. He fulfilled his internship at the University Medical center, Las Vegas, Nevada, and his residency in radiation oncology at LLUMC. He is licensed to practice medicine in California and Nevada. Dr. Namihas holds memberships in several professional organizations, including the American College of Radiology, the American Society for Therapeutic Radiology and Oncology (ASTRO), the California Medical Association, the Southern California Radiation Oncology Society, the San Bernardino County Medical Society, the Los Angeles Radiological Society, and the Gilbert H. Fletcher Society.
Dr. Namihas participates in a variety of investigations of photon radiation therapy and collaborates with colleagues at LLUMC on proton therapy clinical studies. He refers patients for protons at LLUMC when appropriate. As a fluent speaker of Spanish and English, he plays a special outreach role in the Hispanic community.
