Lilia N. Loredo, M.D.
Dr. Loredo is Assistant Professor of Radiation Oncology, Department of Radiation Medicine, Loma Linda University Medical Center (LLUMC), Loma Linda, California. She also holds staff appointments at three other California medical institutions: San Bernardino County Medical Center, San Bernardino; White Memorial Medical Center, Los Angeles; and Glendale Adventist Medical Center, Glendale.
Dr. Loredo completed her undergraduate education (nursing) at Loma Linda University. She subsequently attended Loma Linda University School of Medicine and was awarded her M.D. degree. She fulfilled her internship at LLUMC, as well as her residency in radiation oncology.
Dr. Loredo holds memberships in several professional organizations, including the American College of Radiology, the American Medical Association, the American Association for Women Radiologists, the American Society for Therapeutic Radiology and Oncology (ASTRO), the California Radiological Society, the California Medical Association, the San Bernardino County Medical Society, and the Gilbert H. Fletcher Society. She is licensed to practice medicine in California and Florida.
Dr. Loredo is a leader in a variety of investigations of proton radiation therapy, with special foci on cancers of childhood, cancers of the head and neck, melanomas of the eye, tumors of the skull base and spine, and benign and malignant brain tumors. She is the author or co-author of several papers on these topics in the peer-reviewed literature. Also, as a fluent speaker of Spanish and English, she plays a special outreach role in the Hispanic community.
