National Association for Proton Therapy Web Site Now Available

Thursday, April 09, 1998

The National Association for Proton Therapy (NAPT) has announced the launching of its new web site http://www.proton-therapy.org to meet increasing demand for information and referrals on proton therapy for cancer treatment.

The web site focuses on the most frequently asked questions about the benefits of proton beam technology in the treatment of numerous cancer sites in the body--including results of a recent study on men with prostate cancer conducted at the Proton Treatment Center at Loma Linda University Medical Center. The web site includes sections on how protons work, proton facts, where to find proton therapy treatment, a diagram of the Proton Treatment Center floor plan, testimonials from patients, and links to other proton therapy sites.

NAPT is a nonprofit organization headquartered in Washington, D.C., providing education and awareness for the public, professional, and governmental communities. NAPT is called upon for Congressional testimony, to inform and answer hundreds of requests, and serve as a clearinghouse for the latest information on possible patient referral options. Founded in 1990, it promotes the therapeutic benefits of proton therapy for cancer treatment in the United States and abroad.

Internet users are encouraged to visit the site and ask questions of their own by contacting:
